About Oribi

Oribi is a Swedish company which develops assistive technology for people with reading and writing difficulties. Founded in 2001, Oribi’s products are built on an innovative search tool which makes information accessible to poor spellers. Oribi has developed programs that are well-known and widespread in Sweden: Stava Rex, an intelligent spellchecker for Swedish-speaking users, and SpellRight, a spellchecker aimed at Swedish-speaking people who write in English as a second language.

Oribi has also produced a spellchecker for the English-speaking market: VeritySpell, distributed by IanSyst Ltd in the UK. The program was released in 2010. Verity Spell picks up on severe errors and presents suggestions with explanatory sentences to help the user choose the right word.

Oribi’s strength is its breadth of competence providing a platform for success. In Oribi, experience and knowledge of reading and writing difficulties meets advanced mathematical algorithms and a user-friendly Windows interface.
